Conhoff Leads Women's XC in Opener

BALTIMORE, Md. – Rachel Conhoff led the way for the Ursinus College women's cross country team in Thursday's season opener at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.

Conhoff placed 28th in a time of 20:43.0 for the 5k race at the Baltimore County Agricultural Center. Like most of the 2019 campaign, she was the Bears' first runner across in a field also comprised of competitors from Johns Hopkins, American, and Messiah.

Holly Chambers was the second Ursinus runner to complete the course, posting a time of 21:46.5. It was a balanced effort for Chambers and the next three finishers – Lauren Ferguson (21:52.4), Ryan Wauthier (21:59.1), and Brooke Adams (22:05.0) were all within 20 seconds of Chambers.

Samantha Grubb turned in a mark of 22:40.0, and Jenna Lozzi rounded out the Ursinus top seven at 24:45.2.

In addition to Wauthier, Adams, and Grubb, Candace Hudson and Erica Locke also made their collegiate cross country debuts for the Bears.

Ursinus is next in action at the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday, September 11, at Union Canal Tunnel Park.
