MEDIA, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's cross country team opened its season at the Bryn Mawr Invitational at Rose Tree Park in Delaware County. There was no team scoring.
Top Finisher
Freshman Riley Engel (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock South) finished third overall with a time of 21:00. According to head coach Carl Blickle, she came through the mile in tenth place and moved up nicely through the second and third mile.
Bears Other Finishers
Senior captain Alicia Baker (York, Pa./York Suburban) was right outside the top ten with a time of 21:50, while freshman Gabrielle Manto (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) was 16th overall at 22:39.
Senior Krista Snyder (West Sunbury, Pa./Moniteau) was 21st with a time of 23:22.9.
Freshman Morgan Cope (Olympia, Wash./Capital) was 23rd with a time of 23:32.7
Freshman Melanie Lee (Lampeter, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) was 24th with a time of 23:44.2
Junior Sam Innes (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) was 30th with a time of 24:30.2.
Coaches' Corner
Since it was an early season meet, both teams took the early third of the race easy by "tempoing" the mile.
