Volleyball goes 1-3 at Knights Invitational

ASTON, Pa. – The Ursinus College volleyball team went 1-3 during the two-day Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University.

On Friday, the Bears fell to Division II Chestnut Hill, 3-1 (set scores 25-20, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-21) and to PSU-Altoona 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18).

On Saturday, the Bears lost to Widener 3-1 (25-9, 32-30, 21-25, 25-13) before defeating Wesley 3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-19).

Against Chestnut Hill, senior outside hitter Mary Kate Wilmoth (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) had nine kills, as did sophomore middle blocker Kristin Hanratty (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson). Junior setter Elizabeth Roth (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) had 32 assists, with Wilmoth netting 18 digs.

Against PSU-Altoona, junior outside hitter Kim Goldberg (Sarasota, Fla./Out of Door Academy) and Hanratty had six kills each. Roth had 21 assists with senior outside hitter Gabriella Galleo (Reading, Pa./Spring-Ford) netting 28 digs.
