NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) while juniors Isabelle Deal and Rachel Conhoff received All-Academic Athlete recognition, the organization announced on Tuesday.

To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears earned a 3.45 GPA, marking the sixth consecutive season of All-Academic Team laurels under head coach Carl Blickle.

Sophomore Brooke Adams, sophomore Esther Akande, senior Tori Bearden, junior Holly Chambers, Conhoff, senior Rosie Cuomo, Deal, junior Erin Drebushenko, senior Lauren Ferguson, sophomore Samantha Grubb, senior Katie Hunt, junior Jenna Lozzi, junior Alexa McCall, senior Molly McCarthy, junior Catie Owens, junior Julia Pierson, senior Chelsea Stitt, senior Zenya Yanoff were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.

The women's track and field squad also placed two of its members on the All-Academic Athlete roster. Deal and Conhoff both made it on the prestigious list, which rewards student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation. It is the second-straight academic honor for Deal while Conhoff earns the first in her collegiate career.

Already All-Mideast Region performers, Deal and Conhoff now add All-Academic Individual accolades to cap off a stellar 2022 season

Deal continued her dominance in the throwing events for the Bears as she took home her second-straight All-American honor in the javelin at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She became the first two-time All-American in program history and set the school record in the javelin back in April. Deal overcame a late-season injury to earn the bronze medal at the Centennial Conference championships, her second-straight medal in the event. She earned Academic All-Centennial status for the second time with her performance at the championship meet.

Conhoff had a career best season by winning the gold medal at the Centennial Championships in the 1500-meters to garner first-team All-Centennial honors and shattered a seven-year-old school record in the process. Conhoff earned second team All-Centennial in the 3000-meter steeplechase after earning the silver medal. She also won gold in the 1500 at the AARTFC Championships in mid-May. Conhoff competed in the mile at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and finished ninth overall.

The same pair of Conhoff and Deal were named to the PhillySIDA Women's Track & Field All-Academic team as well back in June.
