PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team wrapped up a busy last few days at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Saturday.

The Bears had entries in the two-day meet in addition to having four events completed in the Gwynedd Mercy Twilight Meet on Thursday before it was ultimately canceled due to thunderstorms. The Larry Ellis Invitational pitted the Bears against various Division III and Division I programs.

It took less than a week for junior Isabelle Deal to top her recently set school record throw in the javelin as she recorded a mark of 144-10 ft. on Friday afternoon. Deal finished fourth in the event, trailing only three Division I competitors and her new best throw maintains its current spot as the second longest in Division III this season. First-year Mikki Pomatto also continued her breakout collegiate debut season by topping her school record in the discus that was set two weeks ago. Pomatto launched a throw of 130-4 ft. on Saturday, topping her old mark of 129-11 ft. Her new mark is currently the second best in the Centennial Conference for the discus.

Sophomore Jacqueline Allen competed in the shot put on Saturday and recorded a throw of 38-0 ft. as the only DIII entry in the event.

Junior Rachel Conhoff ran in two races at Princeton over the weekend and posted personal bests in both events. She recorded a time of 4:40.95 in the 1500 meters on Friday before tallying a time of 2:15.89 in the 800-meters on Saturday. Conhoff ranks fourth and second now in the Centennial in those events, respectively, and finished as the highest DIII runner in the 800 (8th overall).  Classmate Holly Chambers also competed in the 1500 and recorded a personal best time of 4:51.33.

On Thursday at Gwynedd Mercy, the Bears had six of the top 10 finishers in the shot put, led by Deal with a throw of 40-1.5 ft. Allen followed just behind in second with a mark of 40.1 ft. and junior Hannah Bierling recorded a throw of 36-11.5 ft. Junior Catie Owens tied for fourth with a throw of 31-4.5 ft, first-year Erin Hendershot placed eighth with a 29-3 ft. throw, and junior Erin Drebushenko finished 10th with her mark of 27-6 ft.

First-year Katya Galkowski and junior Alexa McCall competed in the javelin on Thursday and finished third and fourth, respectively. Galkowski recorded a throw of 103-9 ft. while McCall earned a mark of 100-9 ft.

Senior Tori Bearden finished second in the triple jump on a mark of 32-3 ft. while first-year Sierra Hufnagle finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.92. Junior Samantha Levai finished eighth with a time of 1:21.62 in the 400 hurdles

The Bears return to action on Friday, April 22nd as they will begin competition at the two-day Widener Invitational starting at 3:00 p.m.
