LANCASTER, Pa. – After a career-best performance in the javelin on Saturday, Ursinus Women's Track & Field junior Isabelle Deal was named Centennial Conference Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

Deal set a new school record and posted the second-best mark in Division III of the outdoor season in the javelin on Saturday afternoon at the Ursinus Invitational. She broke a school record that stood since 1983 by Sandy Wirth with a meet-winning mark of 143 feet. Deal's javelin throw ranks sixth all-time in Centennial history. She also earned a runner-up finish in the shot put on Saturday with a throw of 38-4.75 ft.

The Blackwood, New Jersey native won gold in both the javelin and shot put last season at Centennial Championships while earning All-American honors in the javelin at NCAA Championships. This is the second time in her career that she has earned field athlete of the week honors from the Centennial after receiving the accolade following her collegiate debut meet in April 2021.

The Bears return to action on Thursday, April 14th as they will compete in the Gwynedd Mercy Twilight Meet at 3 p.m.
