Deal Earns Bronze as Women's Track & Field Finishes 5th at CC Indoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field earned a bronze medal and saw another school record be set on the final day of the 2022 Centennial Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Bears finished fifth overall as the meet ended with 37 total team points.

 

Johns Hopkins won the team title for the 11th-straight year as they set a new Centennial Meet record with 343 team points.

 

Junior Isabelle Deal won the lone medal of weekend for the Bears in the Shot Put, earning bronze on a throw of 38-7.75 ft. It was Deal's second career medal at indoor championships after earning the silver back in 2020. Junior Hannah Bierling placed sixth in the event with a personal-best throw of 40-3.5 ft. and senior Zenya Yanoff recorded a ninth-place finish behind a personal-best mark of 35-8.75 ft.

 

Junior Rachel Conhoff placed fourth for the second-straight indoor Centennial meet in the mile with a personal-best time of 5:00.98

 

The 4x800 relay team of Conhoff, sophomore Brooke Adams, junior Holly Chambers, and freshman Meghan Carroll set a new Ursinus school record in the event with a time of 9:51.82 that was previously set in 2018 and placed fifth in the event. It was the second time this weekend that the four broke a relay school record.

 

First-year Tehya Harvey earned a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.25 as she improved two spots following her prelims finish of seventh on Saturday.

 

The 4x400 relay team of Harvey, Carroll, Adams, and Chambers posted a sixth-place finish behind a time of 4:19.89.

 

Ursinus will return to action on Friday, March 4th as they will compete at the two-day AARTFC Championship hosted by Nazareth College beginning at 11 a.m.
