Women's Track & Field DMR Sets School Record on Day one of CC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team set a new school record in an event as they opened competition in the Centennial Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center.

 

The Bears sit in sixth overall in the team standings with 12 points while Johns Hopkins sits in first place with a 133.

 

The Distance Medley Relay team of junior Rachel Conhoff, sophomore Brooke Adams, junior Holly Chambers, and freshman Meghan Carroll set a new Ursinus school record in the Distance Medley relay with a time of 12:30.94 that was previously set in 2018 and placed fourth in the event.

 

Senior Zenya Yanoff led six Bears in the weight throw with a fifth-place finish after posting a mark of 43-3 ft. Freshman Tehya Harvey finished seventh in the prelims of the 60-meter dash to qualify for the finals tomorrow on a personal best time of 8.20.  Senior Lauren Ferguson finished eighth in the 5,000-meter run on a personal-best time of 19:00.10

Triple Jump: 7. Tori Bearden 31-7.50 ft.

60 Meter Prelims: 7. Tehya Harvey 8:20 ; 11. Kate Hunt 8.36

60 Meter Hurdles Prelims: 10. Tori Bearden – 10.31; 12. Rosie Cuomo 10.7

5000 meter run: 8. Lauren Ferguson – 19:00.10; 11. Ryan Wauthier 19:32.17; 13. Samantha Grubb 19:37.94

Distance Medley Relay: 5. Conhoff, Carroll, Chambers, Adams  – 12:30.94

 

Day two of the Championship Meet begins tomorrow, February 27th at 11:00 a.m.
