USTFCCCA Rankings

COLLEGEVILLE - The Ursinus College women's indoor track and field team was ranked No. 7 in the initial United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Metro Regional Rankings released on Tuesday.

The Bears earned 150.70 rating points in the poll to rank seventh in the Metro region. Ursinus ranks second among Centennial teams in the regional rankings with Swarthmore placing third with 221.78 rating points. This is the highest regional ranking the women's team has received since head coach Carl Blickle took over eight years ago, and are believed to be the highest since well before that time.

Ursinus features several student-athletes either atop or near the apex of the CC performance list following a pair of strong performances to open the indoor season.

Junior Rachel Conhoff ranks third for the mile in the Centennial after posting a personal best time over the past weekend in the Collegeville Classic. Conhoff also ranks sixth in the 5000 meters as well.

The 4x800 relay team of Conhoff, Freshman Megan Carroll, junior Holly Chambers, and sophomore Brooke Adams hold the fastest time in the Centennial after a season best time posted in the Collegeville Classic. Rosie Cuomo leads the sprinters by rounding out the top 10 for the 60-meter hurdles.

Among the throwers, senior Zenya Yanoff holds the fourth-best weight throw mark in the CC while sophomore Jacqueline Allen (6th), junior Catie Owens (8th), and junior Isabelle Deal (9th) also are featured in the top 10 for the event as well. Allen paces the Bears in the shot put in fourth, Deal ranks sixth, and junior Hannah Bierling ranks ninth for the event.

The Bears see a pair of athletes in the top 10 for the triple jump as Sophomore Esther Akande finds herself in sixth while senior Tori Bearden holds the 10th best jump in the season.

The Bears return to action this Friday, January 28th as they will compete in the Little Dip Invitational at Franklin & Marshall.
