COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Isabelle Deal established a new personal best and earned a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw as the Ursinus College women's track and field team opened the Centennial Conference championships on Friday on a gusty afternoon in Collegeville.
Deal was one of two place-winners for the Bears in the kick-off event, with rookie Alexa McCall finishing eighth in her championship debut.
Deal extended her previous benchmark by just over two feet to 111-11.25 on her third attempt of the day, capturing her second career place at a conference championship meet.
McCall also secured a new collegiate best at 102-1.5, edging teammate Zenya Yanoff for the eighth and final scoring place by less than an inch.
