Women's T&F Places 7 on All-CC Team

All-CC Indoor Track & Field

LANCASTER, Pa. – Seven members of the Ursinus College women's track and field team received All-Centennial Conference recognition for their performances at the indoor championships.

Kate Hunt, Dominique Timmons, Gianna Speranza, and Rachel Coleman were named to the first team after winning the 4x200-meter relay.

Rachel Coleman and Timmons also teamed with Michela Coleman and Jill Rotman to earn second team All-CC laurels for a runner-up finish in the 4x400-meter relay. They were joined on the second team by Isabelle Deal, who claimed silver in the shot put. Timmons also received honorable mention for her bronze medal in the 60-meter dash.

The 4x200 relay squad gave a longstanding school record a real challenge, eventually posting a time of 1:47.80 to give the Bears back-to-back golds in the shortest relay race.

The 4x400 proved a remarkably clutch performance, as the Coleman twins, Timmons, and Rotman knew they needed to finish in the top-2 to vault Ursinus into fourth in the team standings. They did just that, taking silver in a time of 4:09.86.

Deal broke the school record in the shot put, unleashing a toss of 41-3.25 to finish in second place.

Timmons' career-best 8.02-second time in the 60 was good for bronze.

Additionally, Sophia Simoes was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The senior had a solid championship, placing fourth in the weight throw and finishing 11th in the shot put.
