Rueda-Juarez Wins Shot Put at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Vikki Rueda-Juarez secured a sizeable personal best in the shot put to highlight one of several such performances as the Ursinus College women's track and field team went to Haverford for a quad meet on Thursday.

Rueda-Juarez tallied a toss of 10.79 meters in the shot put, enough to move up to seventh in the Centennial Conference. Zenya Yanoff was just off a PR at 9.86 meters, while Elizabeth Bird (8.71) and Erin Drebushenko (6.79) also competed.

Jenna Lozzi nabbed a new college best in the mile (6:11.78) and crossed the line in 2:57.24 in her 800-meter debut, where Amanda Choi clocked a 2:59.81.

Julia Rakovska took first in the high jump (1.30 meters) and was just behind Melanie DeRosa (4.40 meters) with a mark of 4.30 meters her long jump debut.

DeRosa narrowly missed a PR with a 9.28-meter leap in the triple jump.

The Bears head to the world-famous Armory in New York City on Friday for the NYU Division III Invitational.
