Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season at Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field teams returned to their outdoor schedule at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational, with several Bears recording personal bests and conference qualifiers in a strong performance.

The 4x400-meter relay team of senior Kristen Prijs, sophomore Jenna Kelly, sophomore Meggie Leitz, and senior Krista Snyder dominated, outdistancing Wesley's runner-up foursome by more than three seconds.

Freshman Riley Engel ran a solid double in the 800 (2:34.51) and 1500 (5:12.54), notching a personal record and placing 14th overall in the latter.

Prijs, meanwhile, finished third in the 400 (1:00.17) and eighth in the 200 (26.59), logging season-best times in both events. Leitz was 14th in the 400 with a conference qualifier of 1:04.69.

Sophomore Lily Talerman (2:33.80) and freshman Audrey Simpson (2:35.54) each ran season bests in the 800, just off the CC qualifying standard.

Sophomore Amanda Sierzega registered a personal best in the 10k (44:13.93), missing a conference-qualifying time by just a few ticks.

Snyder nearly eclipsed her previous personal record in the 200 (27.71, 17th overall) and did so in the triple jump, where she placed third with a leap of 10.40 meters.

Kelly landed fourth in the 400 hurdles, notching a personal best of 1:10.41 that was just a few hundredths of a second out of third.

On Friday, senior Elizabeth Cooley had a CC qualifier in the discus (27.49 m), and she placed fourth in the pole vault (2.81 m).

On the men's side, freshmen Andrew Voyack (4:19.67), Evan Cirafesi (4:27.28), and Jonny Cope (4:31.32) all ran personal bests in the 1500, and junior Luke Schlegel recorded a season best (4:27.94).

Senior Erich Keyser finished fourth in the 400 hurdles (56.76) and seventh in the 110 hurdles (16.48), both season bests, while senior Skyler McCormick (59.12, 12th) and sophomore Mitchell Kelly (1:00.22, 14th) followed closely behind with CC qualifying standards.

Sophomore Jequan Mitchell was seventh in the 100 (11.37) and 12th in the 200 (22.90).

Sophomore Adam Myers placed fourth in the shot put (12.83 m) and sixth in the discus (38.25 m).
