Women's Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at W&L

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team kicked off the outdoor season at Washington and Lee's Track and Field Carnival this weekend.

Senior Krista Snyder was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17-1, which was only a few inches shy of her personal best.

Sophomore Lily Talerman tallied a personal best in the 1500 with a time of 5:23.33, and freshman Riley Engle did so in the 5k, where her mark of 19:41.03 was just two seconds off the qualifying standard for the Centennial Conference championship.

On Saturday, sophomore Jenna Kelly (2:34.68) and Snyder (2:34.85) were neck and neck in the 800, while Talerman was only a few seconds behind in cold and rainy conditions.

A majority of the sprinting events were scratched due to poor weather.
