Women's track takes fourth at championships

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus women's track program finished in fourth place with a final score of 76 points at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships this weekend at Swarthmore College.

Freshman Erin Ferrel and Chloe Johnson-Hyde placed in the top 8 in sixth and eighth respectively with times of 26.95 and  27.22 in the 200-meter dash.

In the 400-meter dash Kristin Prijs finished in sixth place with a time of 1:00.69.

For the 3000-meter steeplechase junior Emelia Perry finished within the top 8 taking fifth place with a time of 11:27.12.

Kimberly Snow finished fourth in the triple jump and in the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters or 4-11.75.

Krista Snyder finished in sixth in the javelin throw with a distance of 31.72 meters or 104-01, and also finished seventh in the triple jump.

In the 100-meters hurdles senior Victoria Goodenough was unable to top her Centennial Conference record from 2013, but took first place finishing with a time of 14.53. Goodenough also placed in second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.61.

Ursinus placed second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.51, sixth in the 4X400 at 4:08.01 and eighth in the 4X800 at 10:23.92.

In the pole vault Elizabeth Cooley finished in third place with a height of 3.05 meters or 10-00.00 feet.

Senior Amanda Birnbauer finished in third place in the shot put with a distance of 12.59 meters or 41-03.75. Birnbauer finished in second place in the discus competition with a distance of 38.1 meters or 125-00.
