Women's Track and Field wins Grizzly Classic

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team captured first in its own Grizzly Classic on Friday afternoon, with 319 points to win an eight-team field.

The Bears had several top finishes on the afternoon, with Carina Doyle winning the 400 meter dash at 58.96 and Chelsie Nemeth winning the 5k at 21:16.16.

Victoria Goodenough was a double winner in the hurdles, taking the 100 (14.68) and the 400 (1:05.94).

In the steeple, Emilia Perry won the event at 12:12.34.

The Bears also took first in the 4x1 relay with the team of Goodenough, Krista Snyder, Doyle and Kristen Prijs winning the event at 52.25. In the 4x4, the same team won the 4x4 at 4:16.23.

In the field events, Celina Sooksatan won the high jump at 5-02.25, Elizabeth Cooley won the pole vault at 9-06.25 and Morgan Pepe won the triple jump at 36-07.

In the shot put, Amanda Birnbrauer won the event at 35-10.50, while also capturing the discus throw at 106-09.

In the javelin throw, Snyder won the event at 107-08.
