Three Is The Magic Number

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Two members of the Ursinus College women's track and field team won gold medals at the 2012 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ursinus on Saturday. The Bears finished in third place with 87 points.

Junior Celina Sooksatan (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) won a conference championship in the high jump, finishing with a height of 1.57 meters. Sophomore Amy Galvin (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) was fifth at 1.52 meters.

Junior Amanda Laurito (Philadelphia, Pa.) also picked up a conference championship in the 60 meter dash, winning the event with a time of 7.92. She would later finish second in the 200 at 26.42.

On the track, the team of freshman Emily Lamb (Parkesburg, Pa./Westtown School), freshman Nicole LaRatta, junior Brianna Kramer (Drums, Pa./MMI Prep) and freshman Elizabeth Reynolds (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) were third with a time of 12:51.19 in the distance medley relay. In the 4x2 meter relay, the team of sophomore Victoria Goodenough (Oxford, England), freshman Jessica Matusky (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford), junior Carina Doyle (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) and Laurito finished second at 1:48.69.

Matusky would later finish fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.40, wihle Doyle finished fifth in the event at 1:01.48.

Goodenough took a silver medal in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of  9.10.

In the pole vault, senior Lauren Surman (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) was third with a height cleared of 3.20 meters.

In the shot put, sophomore Katie Williams (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) finished eighth with a throw of 10.82 meters.

In the 200, Goodenough went for fifth place at 26.96, while Doyle was seventh at 27.23.

In the 4x8 relay, the team of Kramer, Lamb, Reynolds and sophomore Anna Lopresti (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) finished sixth with a time of 10:04.08.

Finally, the team of Doyle, Goodenough, senior Kirsten King (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) and Matusky finished second in the 4x4 relay at 4:06.01.
