COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –It was quite the start of the 2011 season for the Ursinus College women's track and field team as they hosted the Bow-Tie Classic.

The Bears finished with a score of 177 points, good enough for first place as they tied with Bowie State. The Bears easily won the Division II and III portion of the event.

Amanda Laurito set new school records as she won the 60 meter dash at 7.95 and the 200 meter dash at 26.67. Kirsten King won the 400 meter dash at 1:02.08, while Victoria Goodenough won the hurdles at 9.47.

The team of Goodenough, King, Lauren Goldstein and Carina Doyle won the 4x4 relay at 4:13.79.

Goldstein took a second place finish in the 800 meter run at 2:27.31, with Elizabeth Reynolds taking second in the mile run at 5:42.34. Michele Tetla was second in the 5k at 20:44.67.

In the 4x2 relay, Doyle, Goodenough, Laurito and King finished second at 1:48.74, while Jordan Kellogg, Brianna Kramer, Anna Lopresti and Reynolds finished second in the 4x8 at 10:54.84.

In the field events, Lauren Surman was second in the pole vault at 2.75 meters, while Amy Schaefer was third. Schaefer also had an eighth place in the long jump at 4.32 meters.

In the high jump, Sooksatan was second at 1.55 meters, while Amy Galvin was fourth and Lopresti was eighth.

In the shot put, Amanda Birnbrauer was fourth at 10.63 meters, with Katie Williams taking fifth at 10.37 meters. Jen Wolf took fifth in the triple jump at 9.24 meters.

Back to the sprints, King was third in the 200 meter dash at 27.39, while Goodenough was eighth at 28.27. In the 400, Jessica Matusky was third at 1:03.84, with Doyle finishing fourth at 1:03.73 and Kramer seventh at 1:04.95.

In the 800, Lopesti was seventh at 2:37.31.

Stephanie Donatone was fifth in the mile run at 5:52.17, with Meghan McDermott sixth at 6:01.00. Sabrina Cimerol was eighth in the 5k at 21:37.74.

Finally, Galvin was sixth in the hurdles at 10.41, and Caitlin Callahan was eighth at 10.83.
