Women's Track and Field second at Centennials

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team muscled their way to a second place finish at the 2011 Centennial Conference Championships, finishing with a total team score of 135.5 in the three-day event.


The final day was another highlight reel for the Bears, as sophomore Amanda Laurito (Philadelphia, Pa.) captured both the 100 meter dash (12.38) and the 200 meter dash (25.49), while junior Kirsten King (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) was tops in the 400 at 56.82 (a NCAA provisional mark) and was third in the 200 at 26.18. 

Senior Lauren Lammers (Haddon Heights, N.J./Bishop Eustace) finished seventh in both the 100 (13.11) and the 200 (26.80). 

In the hurdle events, freshman Victoria Goodenough (Oxford, England) was second in the 100 (15.15) and third in the 400 at 1:06.58. Sophomore Carina Doyle (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) was fourth in the 400 hurdles at 1:07.25.

The Bears won the 4x1 relay with a time of 49.24, as the team of Goodenough, King, Lammers and Laurito won by .16 seconds. 

In the field events, junior Bianca Bartoli (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield)) finished second at 111-06 feet, with junior Amy Schaefer (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) finishing fifth at 109-10, sophomore Natalie Massari (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) finishing sixth at 109-04, junior Ryann Burke (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) in seventh at 106-05 and sophomoreTicora Adams (Philadelphia, Pa.) in eighth at 105-03. 

In the triple jump, sophomore Leah Shaw (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) was sixth at 33-09.50. 


Finally, freshman Amanda Birnbrauer (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell-Egan) was fifth in the shot put at 35-08.75, while freshman Katie Williams (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) was sixth at 35-07.25.
