Women's Track wins Ursinus Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In the final tuneup before Centennial Conference Championships in two weeks, the Ursinus College women's track and field team won the Ursinus Invitational with a team score of 254.50, more than 132 points over second-place Messiah.

Sophomore Amanda Laurito was a double winner in the sprints, as she captured the 55 meter dash at 7.57 and the 200 meter dash at 27.08.

Junior Kristen King won the 400 meter dash at 1:01.27, with senior Alison Nolan capturing the 5000 meter run at 18:52.19.

Freshman Victoria Goodenough was first in the 55 hurdles at 8.84.

Ursinus won both the 4x2 and 4x4 relays with the team of Goodenough, King, Laurito and senior Lauren Lammers winning the event at 1:52.17 in the 4x2, while the team of King, Goodenough, sophomore Carina Doyle and freshman Francesca Macera won the 4x4 at 4:16.86.

Junior Amy Schaefer won the pole vault at 9 feet, .25 inches.

In the sprints, Lammers took second in the 55 dash at 7.77, with King taking second at 27.15 in the 200. Lammers was third in the 200 at 27.30, followed by Goodenough in fourth at 27.51 and Doyle in fifth at 28.33.

Doyle posted a second place finish in the 400 dash at 1:03.79, with junior Lauren Goldstein in fourth at 1:04.49.

In the 800, Nolan was second at 2:28.45 with Goldstein in third at 2:33.52.

Junior Sabrina Cimerol was fourth in the mile run at 6:08.96, with junior Alison Cragg in fifth at 6:16.03.

Freshman Rachel Albershardt was second in the 5k at 19:06.15, while freshman Amy Galvin was second in the 55 hurdles at 9.39.

Freshman Elisa Tyler was second in the pole vault at 8 feet, .50 inches, while in the triple jump sophomore Leah Shaw was second at 31-20.75, sophomore Olivia Hovick was third at 29-03.25, with senior Michelle Franco in fourth at 28-09.00.
