Women's Tennis Up To No. 12 in Regional Rankings

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team earned its highest regional ranking in program history on Thursday, moving up to No. 12 in the Atlantic South standings as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its latest set of rankings on Thursday.

The Bears (6-2, 0-1 CC) garnered their first-ever regional ranking last April, checking in at No. 16 in the final poll of the 2014-15 campaign and staying there in the one that came out in November. During the team's spring break trip to Florida, Ursinus scored a 7-2 victory over Lake Forest, which had been ranked in the Central Region.

Ursinus remained one spot ahead of Centennial Conference rival Swarthmore in the Atlantic South rankings. Washington College, which defeated the Bears 8-1 on Wednesday, ascended to No. 8, while Johns Hopkins moved back a spot to No. 4.

The Bears continue their season with a home match against Dickinson on Saturday, April 2.
