Swimming Teams Earn Scholar All-America Honors from CSCAA

NORFOLK, Va. – The Ursinus College men's and women's swimming teams were once again rewarded for its success in the classroom as both were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, announced on Wednesday morning.  

 

 

The CSCAA Scholar All-America Team program recognizes teams that achieve a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during each semester. The women's team received the honor for the 13th consecutive spring while the men's team earned the accolade for the eighth-straight season. The men's team posted  a cumulative GPA of 3.26 and the women's team registered a cumulative GPA of 3.71 during the most recent academic semester.

 

 

A total of 731 teams from 441 institutions earned CSCAA Scholar All-America accolades as the men's team posted a cumulative 3.12 GPA, while the women's team held a cumulative 3.37 GPA.

 

 

CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart added "Head Coach Mark Feinberg understands the values of training the complete student-athlete and that is evident by the team's success in the classroom."

 

 

On the men's side, sophomore Daniel Leach, junior Ryan Schreffler, senior Matt Snyder, and Maxwell Valeriano were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

 

 

Junior Charlotte Driver, junior Abigail Ferguson, sophomore Morgan Grabowski, senior Sophie Lear, sophomore Melissa Leonard, sophomore Erica Locke, and senior Liv Rachael were named to the women's swimming Academic Honor Roll while Lear and Leonard earned Academic All-Centennial status after their performances at the Centennial Championships. Lear was also named the Centennial Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year after finishing with the highest cumulative GPA among juniors and seniors on the All-Centennial Team.
