COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's and women's swimming team hosted McDaniel in a Centennial Conference dual meet on Saturday. Both teams performed well with the Lady Bears outscoring the Green Terror 112-88 and the men finishing ahead 122-74.

Both the men's and women's teams took the top three spots in the 1000-yard freestyle. Freshman Margrethe Leis paced the women in 11:15.23 and fellow rookie Daniel Powell finished first for the men at 10:18.95. The men also swept the top three positions in the 500-yard freestyle, with freshman Casey Lear in first with a time of 4:57.45, followed by sophomore Daniel Becker in second and senior Dylan Cooper in third. Lear also won the men's 200 yard event.

Baker was one of several student-athletes honored prior to the meet; last season, she earned All-American honors in both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Division III Championships, becoming the first Bear in 25 years to collect multiple All-America honors.

Senior Allison Emick won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.71, narrowly edging McDaniel's Becca Sykes.

Freshman Jared Krawetz and senior Willliam Benn went back-to-back in the 50-yard freestyle, with Krawetz coming in at 23.09 and Benn behind by just .07 seconds. Benn finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.80.
