SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team finished the two-day, three session Swarthmore Invitational in first place with a total team score of 1071, over 350 points ahead of second-place Swarthmore.

On Saturday, the Bears had several top finishes. In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Malena Lair Ferrari, Katie Pielmeier, Alli Hemp and Chelsea Kozior won the event at 1:54.53.

The Bears captured the top five spots in the 400 IM, as Pielmeier won the event at 4:44.51, followed by Bryn O'Neill in second place at 4:45.06. Kyleigh Hamilton was third at 4:55.05, with Kimberly Bullock in fifth at 5:07.48.

Hemp won the 100 fly at 1:00.26, with Cat Wilson in fourth at 1:03.13.

Corinne Capodanno was first in the 200 free at 1:55.60, with Lair Ferrari in second at 1:55.98 and Kozior in third at 2:00.60. Marisa Ferrari was fourth at 2:01.20 and Molly Serfass in fifth at 2:02.58.

Lair Ferrari captured the 100 back at 59.59, while Micaela Lyons was second at 1:03.08.

Ursinus went 1-2 in the 800 free relay, as the team of O'Neill, Kozior, Capodanno and Lair Ferrari took top honors at 7:54.85, with Hamilton, Pielmeier, Ferrari and Serfass in second at 8:11.48.

Starting in the evening session, Lair Ferrari won the 200 back at 2:09.81, with Hamilton in third at 2:16.58.

Capodanno won the 100 free, part of a 1-5 finish for the Bears in that event, winning with a time of 53.23. Kozior was second at 54.80, Lyons third at 54.93, Ferrario fourth at 55.53 and Hemp fifth at 55.94.

Pielmeier took top honors at the 200 breast with a mark of 2:31.15. In the 200 fly, Hamilton won the event at 2:15.44, and Wilson was fifth at 2:21.63.

In the 400 free relay, the team of Lair Ferrari, Kozior, Lyons and O'Neill won the event at 3:41.03.

In the final event, the 1650 free, the Bears had four top finishers at O'Neill won the event at 18:16.71, followed by Serfass in second at 18:20.30, Kimberly Bullock in third at 19:02.86 and Randelman in fifth at 19:26.18.
