Women's Swimming leads after day one of Swarthmore Invitationals

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team is first after day one of the Swarthmore Invitational with a total score of 336 points. The Bears are 91 points ahead of second-place Swarthmore.

In the opening 200 yard free relay, the team of Micaela Lyons, Chelsea Kozior, Alli Hemp and Corinne Capodanno won the event at 1:40.23, with the team of Katie Pielmeier, Marisa Ferrari, Cat Wilson and Allison Emick in sixth.

The Bears took 1-5 in the 500 free, as Kozior won the event at 5:15.02 followed by Bryn O'Neill second at 5:17.63

Kyleigh Hamilton was third at 5:19, followed by Molly Serfass fourth at 5:23.63 and Kimberly Bullock in fifth at 5:31.81.

In the 50 free, Capodanno won the event at 24.74, followed by Lyons at 25.09. Hemp was third at 25.28 and Ferrari was fifth at 25.48.

In the final relay, Malena Lair Ferrari, Pielmeier, Hemp and Capodanno won the 400 medley at 4:04.93. Lyons, Margo Randelman, Wilson and Ferrari were sixth.
