COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team started its 2013-14 season on the right foot with a 122-83 win over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon.
Ursinus took first in five events and swept both relays en route to the win.
Senior Malena Lair Ferrari won the 200 free with a time of 1:58.82 and the 200 back with a time of 2:11.91.
Sophomore Corinne Capodanno won the 50 free at 25.03, the 100 free at 54.03.
Freshman Katie Pielmeier won the 200 IM at the 2:15.31 and the 200 breast at 2:32.72.
Second-place finishes were earned by senior Bryn O'Neill in the 1000 free at 11:16.51 and the 200 back at 2:20.38, junior Chelsea Kozior in the 200 free at 2:00.76 and the 500 free at 5:26.87, sophomore Kyleigh Hamilton in the 200 fly at 2:17.40 and freshman Alli Hemp in the 200 breast at 2:40.55.
Finishing in third place was senior Molly Serfass in the 1000 free at 11:26.01, Hemp in the 50 free at 25.74 and freshman Cat Wilson in the 200 butterfly at 2:21.66.
In the relays, the team of Lair Ferrari, Pielmeier, Wilson and sophomore Micaela Lyons won the 400 medley with a time of 4:09.14, while the team of Capodanno, freshman Marisa Ferrari, O'Neill and Kozior on the 400 free at 3:45.69.
