Women's Swimming falls to Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The host Garnet took the top spot in all but three events on Tuesday afternoon, handing Ursinus a 111-94 loss in a Centennial Conference swim meet.

The Bears got first place finishes from sophomore Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) who won the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:52.69, and the 200 butterfly at 2:14.54. Lair Ferrari teamed up with freshman Chelsea Kozior (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South), junior Lianna Foster-Bey (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and freshman Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:44.17.

Ursinus got second place finishes from Kozior in the 200 free (2:03.95) and the 500 free (5:36.08), Foster-Bey in the 50 free (25.88), sophomore Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) in the 200 IM (2:19.76) and the 200 breaststroke (2:35.38), Ludwig in the 100 free (56.49) and senior Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) in the 200 back (2:21.04).

The team of Ludwig, Russell, Foster-Bey and Yentz took second in the 200 medley relay at 1:54.74.

Third place finishes were earned by sophomore Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) in the 200 free (2:05.55) and 500 free (5:36.48), freshman Amanda Lucock (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) in the 50 free (26.58) and 100 free (57.78) and Yentz in the 200 IM (2:21.38).

The team of Lucock, junior Kelsey Yoo (Whitehall, Pa./ACC), freshman Naomi Bye (Cummington, Mass./Wahconah Regional) and freshman Margo Randelman (Palm Harbor, Fla./Palm Harbor University HS) took third in the 200 free relay at 1:49.20.
