Collegeville, Pa. – Ursinus Women's Swimming dropped a key Centennial Conference match-up Saturday afternoon to the visiting Bullets of Gettysburg College 156-106. Despite the loss, the Bears had strong performances from the relay team of Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School), Eva Russel (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot HS), Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield HS) and Anne Ludwig (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional HS) who won the 200 Medley with a time of 1:55.08.
In the 200 freestyle Lair Ferrari brought the Bears nine points with her first place finish at a time of 1:58.43. Freshman Chelsea Kozior (Holland, Pa./Council Rock HS South) finished fourth with a time of 2:05.84.
Ludwig came through again for the Bears in the 100 Backstroke, winning it with a time of 1:04.64. Sophomore Kimberly Bullock (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga HS) finished fifth in the event with a time of 1:09.67.
Lair Ferrari yet again earned nine points for Ursinus with her win in the 200 backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:09.98.
The Bears took the final event of the day from the Bullets, winning the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.59. Swimming for the Bears were Lair Ferrari, Ludwig, Lianna Foster-Bey (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax HS) and Kozior.
The Bears travel to Swarthmore Tuesday for another Centennial Conference match-up.
