Women's Swimming cruises past Bryn Mawr, 110-81

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team closed its dual meet schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 110-81 win over Bryn Mawr. The Bears won eight of the first nine events in the meet before swimming exhibition.

The meet started with the Bears going 1-3 in the first 400 yard medley relay as the team of junior Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), senior Bridget Winn (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), freshman Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) and sophomore Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) won the event with a time of 4:12.86, followed by the team of freshman Bryn O'Neill (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Germantown Academy), senior Kacie McCormick (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), junior Kathryn Pall (Havertown, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) and freshman Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) taking third at 4:27.77.

In the 1000 free, freshman Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) won the event with a time 11:32.47. The Bears went 1-2 in the 200 free as O'Neill was first at 2:03.24, with Kolosky finishing second at 2:06.86.

In the 50 free, Serfass was second at 28.02.

In the 200 IM, freshman Lair Ferrari was first at 2:17.77, with freshman Kimberly Bullock (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) finishing third at 2:29.89. Russell won the 100 fly with a time of 1:07.11.

In the 100 free, Lair Ferrari was first at 54.91, with McCormick finishing third at 1:01.87. O'Neill picked up her second first place finish in the 200 back at 2:19.49, followed by Yentz in second at 2:20.36.

In the 500 free, junior Kelly Reynolds (Newark, Del./Sanford School) was first at 5:51.46, followed by freshman Kaitlin Kirker (Rockaway Point, N.Y./Polytech Prep County Day) in second at 6:00.18 and Pall in third at 6:07.16.

Ursinus will now set their sights on the Centennial Championships in two weeks at Gettysburg College.
