Women's Swimming wins last relay to take victory over Washington, 109-96

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team scored 13 points in the final event, the 200 yard freestyle relay, as the Bears (7-4, 3-3 Centennial) defeated Washington College (4-5, 1-4 Centennial) 109-96 on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference meet.

The team of sophomore Kelsey Yoo (Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), sophomore Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), sophomore Lianna Foster-Bey (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax), sophomore Jeannie Weaver (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) won the event with a time of 1:43.88, with the team of junior Kelly Reynolds (Newark, Del./Sanford School), freshman Kimberly Bullock (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga), junior Kathryn Pall (Havertown, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame De Namur), freshman Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) finishing third with a mark of 1:52.79.

The Bears started the day with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay, with Weaver, senior Bridget Winn (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), Foster-Bey, and Yoo finishing with a time of 1:58.35.

In the 1000 free, sophomore Kaylani Wertman (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) was second overall with a time of 11:45.14. Freshman Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) was second in the 200 free at 2:00.81, with Serfass taking third at 2:08.27.

Foster-Bey won the 50 free with a mark of 25.25, with Kolosky taking third at 25.75. In the 400 IM, freshman Eva Russell won the event with a time of 4:57.78, followed by freshman Bryn O'Neill (Lower Gwynedd, PA./Germantown Academy) in second at 4:59.56.

Lair Ferrari won the 100 butterfly at 1:01.45, with junior Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) taking second at 1:04.43.

Weaver would earn her first place finish of the day in the 100 back with a time of 1:06.00, with Yentz taking second at 1:06.50.

Lair Ferrari was second in the 500 free at 5:24.33, with Russell taking second in the 100 breast at 1:12.31.

Ursinus will travel to Bryn Mawr on Saturday.
