Women's Swimming wins Centennial opener over McDaniel

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team won its Centennial opener, defeated McDaniel by a 112-93 count.

Freshman Bryn O'Neill (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Germantown Academy) picked up Ursinus' first top finish on the day, winning the 1000 yard freestyle with a winning time of 11:25.29, followed by freshman Malena Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) winning the 200 free at 1:59.54, followed by freshman Regina Shetler (Moorestown, Md./Moorestown) finishing second at 2:04.39.

In the 50 free, sophomore Lianna Foster-Bey (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) took the top spot at 25.94, followed by sophomore Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) in second at 25.96.

Junior Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) won the 200 yard IM at 2:23.32, with junior Kelly Reynolds (Newark, Del./Sanford School) taking second in the 200 fly at 2:36.14.

In the 100 free, Shetler was second at 56.73.

Lair Ferrari also won the 200 back at 2:13.79, with O'Neill picking up her second win in the 500 free at 5:36.00.

Senior Bridget Winn (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) was second in the 200 back with a time of 2:36.53, the Bears final scoring event of the night.
