Women's Swimming falls to Albright, 110-95

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swim team lost a very tight meet to Albright College on Wednesday night, as the Lions (3-2) defeated the Bears (2-1) 110-95. The meet came down to the final relay, as the Lions took the top spot in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Freshman Melana Lair Ferrari (Bethesda, Md./The German School) was a double winner, as she won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:15.47, and won the 200 yard backstroke at 2:13.98. Freshman Eva Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetqout) had a victory in the 200 breaststroke at 2:35.22, and was second in the 200 IM at 2:19.69.

Ursinus captured the opening 400 IM relay as Lair Ferrari, senior Bridget Winn (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), junior Danielle Yentz (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and freshman Regina Shetler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) won the event with a time of 4:10.13.

Sophomore Kaylani Wertman (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) took second in the 1000 free at 11:04.02, followed by freshman Molly Serfass (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) in third place at 11:58.67.

Freshman Bryn O'Neill (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Germantown Academy) took second in the 200 free at 2:04.87, with Yentz taking third at 2:06.14. In the 50 free, sophomore Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) was third at 25.95.

Yentz had a second place finish in the 200 fly at 2:22.99, with Shetler finishing third in the 100 free at 56.93. O'Neill added a third place finish in the 200 back at 2:24.75, with Serfass third in the 500 free at 5:45.82.

Winn finished second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:37.05.

The team of Kolosky, junior Kathryn Pall (Havertown, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame De Namur), sophomore Kelsey Yoo (Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and Shetler were second in the final 400 yard relay at 3:55.54.
