COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus improved to 2-0 on the young season,
as the Bears swept a dual meet from Lycoming on Saturday afternoon
at Elliott Pool.
The women defeated the Warriors, 110-93, while the men defeated the
Warriors, 108-92.
The women started by taking the opening 200-yard medley relay as
the team of sophomore Danielle Yentz (Springfield,
Pa./Springfield), junior Jessica Saloky
(Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy), freshman Jeannie
Weaver (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and freshman
Sarah Kolosky (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes)
won the event with a time of 1:56.74.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, senior Lyndsay MacFeeters
(Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) won with a time of
11:31.89.
Senior Emily Herman (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham
Township) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of
2:04.85. In the 50-free, freshman Lianna Foster-Bey
(Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) won the event at 26.35, while
Kolosky was second at 26.36.
In the 200-IM, Saloky was second at 2:22.73. Foster-Bey picked up a
second-place finish in the 100-free at 57.36.
Yentz won the 100-backstroke at 1:06.06, followed by a second-place
finish from senior Elizabeth Gombosi (Wellsboro,
Pa./Wellsboro).
Herman picked up her second first place finish of the day, as she
won the 500-free at 5:33.37, followed by MacFeeters in second place
at 5:39.06.
Saloky finished second in the 100-breaststroke at 1:12.12 for the
final points of the day, as Ursinus went into exhibition mode after
that event.
The Bears host Drew on Friday.
