Women's Soccer Falls to Johns Hopkins

COLLEGEVILLVE, Pa – The Ursinus College women's soccer team lost 5-0 against Centennial Conference opponent No. 2 Johns Hopkins on Saturday. The Blue Jays were able to get on the board 6 minutes into the contest after a shot from Rachel Jackson found the back of the net. Sophomore Maddie Nau received her first start of the season and recorded nine saves in the contest.

Despite only trailing 1-0 heading into half, Johns Hopkins had outshot the Bears 7-1 and recorded three more corner kick opportunities. The Blue Jays did not waste their opportunities in the second half. Katie Sullivan and Emma Bocanegra both scored a goal within the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Bocanegra added another goal later in the second half for her 4th goal of the season. Ursinus had more opportunities in the second half but could not capitalize due to the stellar defense of the Blue Jays. Johns Hopkins added one more goal in the 86th minute to push their win streak to nine consecutive games.

The Bears will travel to Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup scheduled to start at 7PM. October 23rd they will host Franklin & Marshall for Senior day.
