Collegeville, Pa. - A quick-fire opening goal relegated the the Ursinus College women's soccer team to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Moravian Greyhounds at Patterson Field on Wednesday.

It didn't take long for the Greyhounds to strike first. Just 19 seconds into the match the Bears found themselves down 1-0 thanks to a goal scored by Charlotte Smith, who dribbled down the left side and chipped a beautiful lofted shot that hit off the far post and found the back of the net.

Despite giving up the early goal, the Bears remained competitive in the first half, outshooting Moravian 4-2 and tying the Greyhounds in shots on goal (2-2).

Early in the second half, freshman defender Carlie Shiller saved a goal on a shot by Charlotte Smith. Shiller blocked the shot from finding the lower left corner of the net, preventing the Bears from giving up their second goal to Smith on the night.

With just under three minutes remaining in the match, Ursinus had an opportunity to tie things up when Morgan Raley booted a beautiful corner kick that resulted in a glancing Raya Mount header that hit off the left post.
