Women's Soccer gets 2-1 win over Arcadia

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A goal from freshman forward Mackenzie Groff (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury) propelled the Ursinus women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Arcadia on Wednesday night in women's soccer action.

Groff scored in the 68th minute which gave Ursinus its second straight win at home.

Arcadia had taken an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute when Lennon Kramer scored unassisted, before Ursinus tied the score in the second half as sophomore defender Phoebe Shoap (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) scored at 51:19. Shoap scored on a pass from senior defender Kelsey Shafer (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham).

Despite being outshot 20-10 and out cornered 8-2, Ursinus got eight saves from junior goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan (Maple Glen, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) in the win. Arcadia goalkeeper Evelyn Feigeles made three saves.

Ursinus heads to Moravian on Saturday.
