Women's Soccer drops first match of season

GLASSBORO, N.J. – A goal from Ithaca's Sarah Woychick with under 19 minutes remaining was the difference as the 25th-ranked Bombers (2-1) defeated Ursinus (2-1) 2-1 on Saturday in the second day of the Profs Soccer Classic hosted by Rowan University.

Ursinus trailed 1-0 after the first half as Megan Nash scored unassisted 11:49 into the half.

Ursinus pulled even in the 52nd minute as junior midfielder Jeannie Jasinski (Hilltown, Pa./Pennridge) scored on a cross from freshman forward Mackenzie Groff (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury), before Woychick scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute.

Ursinus held a 12-6 edge in shots on the night.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan (Maple Glen, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) took the loss, falling to 2-1. She made three saves.

Ursinus hosts Arcadia on Wednesday night.
