BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Ursinus netted two goals in each half, as the Bears (5-4-1, 1-2-1 Centennial) scored a 4-0 win over Bryn Mawr (1-7, 0-2 Centennial) Wednesday afternoon in women's soccer action on the Main Line.
Freshman forward Erin Farrell (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) got a goal and an assist for Ursinus, who had 12 shots on the afternoon.
Ursinus broke through in the 33rd minute as senior midfielder Nicole Good (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) scored unassisted, followed by a goal from freshman forward Jacqueline Smiler (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Bayard-Rustin) scoring at 35:29 for the 2-0 halftime edge.
Farrell scored her first and only goal of the game at 57:48 on a pass from junior forward Ama Achiaw (Damascus, Md./Westover School). She returned the favor, assisting on a goal from freshman midfielder Darcy Wood (West Friendship, Md./Maryvale Prep) at 75:00 even for the final 4-0 edge.
Senior goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) and freshman goalkeeper Aly Mento (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) combined to shut out the Owls. DiJoseph made three saves in 69 minutes, while Mento took the last 21 minutes.
