Four Wrestlers Secure ALL-CC Status

LANCASTER, PA. - Four Ursinus College wrestlers officially received their All-Centennial awards Friday morning after standout performances at the conference championship.  

Gary Nagle was a first team All-CC performer thanks to his 184-pound championship. Nagle opened the tournament with a pin over McDaniel's Valentino Pryor in the first period and followed with a 6-0 decision over Johns Hopkins Grant Walnoha in the semifinals. Nagle received a medical forfeit in the finals.   

Terry Adams (125), Romeo Rodriguez (133), and Jason Carter (197) all attained All-CC honorable mention by placing runner-up in their respective brackets.  

Adams opened with a bye in the first round, before an 8-3 decision of Antonio Abate of Gettysburg to reach the championship match. In the finals, Adams fell by decision 6-5 to Riley Parker of W&L.   

Rodriguez the #3 seed in the 133lb bracket started with a major decision over Ricky Caamano of Muhlenberg. Rodriguez then defeated the #2 seed, Cameron Pleninger of Merchant Marine by a score of 8-6 to reach the finals. 

Carter earned a major decision in the opening round, defeating Will Shiber of Johns Hopkins 11-0. In the semifinals, he defeated the #3 seed Max Sims of Merchant Marine by a score of 8-4. In a rematch of the 2019 finals, Carter dropped a 6-1 decision to top-seeded Luca Colestock of Muhlenberg.   

The four all-conference performers match their total from the Bears performance at the 2019 CC championship.
