LANCASTER, Pa. -- Ursinus College's Jason Carter was selected as the Centennial Conference wrestler of the week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Carter was sensational as the Bears wrapped up their conference slate with a pair of matches at McDaniel over the weekend. Against the host Green Terror, the junior 197-pounder dominated the nation's 3rd-ranked wrestler to the tune of a 10-1 major decision, then edged Washington and Lee's Brad Basham, 5-4, on riding time advantage.

Carter is in the midst of a terrific campaign, his first with the Bears. Carter is 21-10 overall with five majors and three pins to his credit, and posted a 5-1 mark in CC competition. He figures to be one of the prime contenders for the 197-pound crown at Saturday's CC championship.
