COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College wrestling team concluded its regular season with three non-conference routs on Senior Day.

The Bears had little trouble dispatching Penn State Mont Alto (49-6), Williamson (58-0), and Penn State's club squad (41-3) in improving to 9-6 on the season. Ursinus honored seniors Deon Edmond, Dionis Kergides, Donte McCarthy, Patrick Rafferty, Cody Richmond, and Chris Tan in a pre-match ceremony.

McCarthy picked up a pin in his final home match, and freshman Ben Maack was 3-0 with a pair of falls.

Sophomore Max Liggett began the day with a 17-0 technical fall over Mont Alto's Dan Bertram at 125, and sophomore James Harkness pinned Brandon Jackson in just 39 seconds at 141.

Junior Edward Howlette edged Lucas Shull, 6-3, at 157. Richmond scored six takedowns, two of them with four near-fall points, in a 21-5 technical fall against Justin Eline at 174, and Maack needed just 15 seconds to pin Silas Dishong at 184.

Against Williamson, the Bears won five bouts by forfeit and dominated the rest. Harkness recorded a 10-1 major decision over Jeremy Gannon at 141, and freshman Pete Scuderi picked up his first career win with a pin of Andrew Schlegel at 157.

Rafferty netted his fifth pin of the season at 174, and Maack took 48 seconds to drop Matt Bilotta at 184. Junior Zebulin Pfeiffer defeated Austin Jacque via injury default at heavyweight.

Ursinus claimed the first three weight classes by forfeit against Penn State's club group. McCarthy registered a second pin at 149.

Junior Jarret DiGiantomasso picked up a 7-2 victory at 157, and Goranson topped Cody Houston by an 11-3 score at 165. Maack and Edmond grabbed back-to-back decisions before Pfeiffer closed the proceedings with a 16-4 rout of Chris Williams.

Ursinus heads to Ithaca for the NCAA East Regional Championship on Saturday, February 24.
