Arnold competes at 50th Annual NWCA All Star Classic

ATLANTA –Ursinus College returning All American Derek Arnold was the only Division III wrestler invited to compete in the 50th annual NWCA All-Star Classic at McCamish Pavilion Sunday on the campus of Georgia Tech University. Arnold wrestled Division I national qualifier, Chris Perez, Princeton University, in one of the more exciting matches of the night but lost a wild 12-7 bout. Arnold took Perez down to his back for the early lead but the seasoned Perez showed why he's a top tier Division I student-athlete by making the comeback for the win.

Derek Arnold is the second Ursinus College wrestler in three years to be invited to compete in the prestigious event with 125 Chris Donaldson wrestling in 2013.  The Hire Heroes NWCA All-Star Classic presented by the Wrestlers in Business Network also was used to test the experimental three-point takedown rule and  implement the newest rules changes to collegiate wrestling.

Arnold is ranked first in the NCAA Division III at 149 pounds, returning NCAA East Champion, Outstanding Wrestler and two –time Centennial Conference Champion.
