COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College wrestling team, ranked 23rd in Division III, closed the dual meet season in fine fashion with two shutouts on Saturday, blanking Washington & Lee, 51-0, and downing Muhlenberg 56-0 to finish 11-1 and a perfect 6-0 in the Centennial Conference.

On the day, Ursinus had a total of 48 takedowns in the two matches compared to just five for the two visiting teams.

Ursinus started early in the match against W&L, as freshman 133 pounder Danny Ventura (Bedford Hills, N.Y./Fox Lane School) made quick work of Adam Davis, pinning him in 16 seconds. Ventura in his match against Muhlenberg's Pat Fruehling pinned him in 12 seconds.

Junior 141 pounder Elisha Gaylor (West Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) had two technical falls on the day, as he continues to rank among the leaders in Division III. Against W&L, he earned a tech fall over Tyler Kaelin in 5:15 by a 15-0 score, then tech falled Muhlenberg's Che Chegsupanimit in 6:24 by a 22-7 score.

At 149, senior Curtis Watkins (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ward) had two wins as he pinned Connor Duffey of W&L in 1:05, then pinned Matthew Goldstein of Muhlenberg in 4:40.

At 157, sophomore Richard Jasinski (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) pushed his win total on the year to 31 with two wins on the day. Against W&L, he pinned Daniel Igel in 4:58, then earned a forfeit against Muhlenberg.

At 165, freshman Gnoleba (Hans) Seri (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) had an 18-10 major decision win over W&L's Zac Richey and got a forfeit win over Muhlenberg.

Wrestling at 174, senior Michael Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Westtown), wrestling in his final match at home, decisioned W&L's Ron Tassoni 15-9, before getting a forfeit win over Muhlenberg.

At 184, sophomore Daniel Manganaro (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) pinned W&L's Morgan Moskal in 6:17 before getting a forfeit win over Muhlenberg.

Like Jasinski, sophomore Christian Psomas (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) moved his win total north of 30 as he pinned W&L's Connor Smithson in :31, then got a forfeit win.

At heavyweight, sophomore Robert Scaramuzza (Springfield, Pa./Malvern Prep decisioned W&L's Grant Cokeley 9-5. Against Muhlenberg, freshman Brandon Russo (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) defeated Chris Galleta, 4-3.

Sophomore Christopher Donaldson (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) got two wins for Ursinus at 125 via forfeit.

Ursinus heads to Johns Hopkins next Saturday, for the Centennial Conference Championships.
