Women's Lacrosse Blows Past Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – A little bit of something from just about everyone added up to a big Centennial Conference win for the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team, which came back from a trip to Bryn Mawr with an 18-5 result in tow.

Senior Emily DiGiorgio became the second senior in as many games to register her 100th career point, rolling up all of her three goals and three assists in the first half as the Bears (3-10, 2-4) broke out to a 13-1 advantage before the break and put it in cruise control from there. Classmate Kaci McNeave, who eclipsed the century mark last weekend at F&M, finished with two goals and two assists alongside two-goal nights from fellow seniors Courtney Cortese and Bridget Sherry.

Freshman Reilly Morgan deposited two goals and added an assist to lead four Ursinus players who notched their first marker of the season. Junior Rachel Dunne and sophomores Kylie Cherneskie and Katherine Eckhoff also opened their accounts.

Sophomore Hannah Reape paired a goal with an assist and was dominant in the circle, racking up a career-high 10 draw controls.

Sophomores Grace Langen and Brittney Bedrossian each found the back of the cage in the first minute of game time, part of a quick burst of five goals that had the Owls (5-7, 0-6) playing catch-up from the opening draw.

After Bryn Mawr got on the board, Ursinus reeled off eight unanswered tallies to institute a running clock and go into intermission armed with a 12-goal margin. DiGiorgio notched her milestone point on an unassisted goal with 3:28 to go before halftime. She also assisted on Bedrossian's goal and on back-to-back strikes by McNeave and Morgan.

Ursinus doubled up the Owls in shots, 30-15, and posted a 15-8 edge on the draw.

Senior Kaitlyn France made seven saves in the cage for the Bears.

The Bears host Haverford on Saturday.
