Three Earn All-CC Women's Lax Honors

2017 All-CC Women's Lacrosse

LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team garnered recognition on the All-Centennial Conference Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Senior Lisa Grous and junior Franny Liberatoscioli collected second team honors, while sophomore Bridget Sherry received honorable mention. The three All-CC selections are tied for the most for the women's lacrosse program since 2010, when five Bears achieved that status.

A four-year starter, Grous is all-conference selection for the third time after leading the Bears and finishing the regular season inside the top 10 in the CC with 45 draw controls. The senior, who added 19 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, also recorded a career-best three assists. Grous, a first team All-CC choice and second team all-region performer a year ago, finished her Ursinus tenure with 148 draw controls, 115 ground balls, and 53 caused turnovers in 65 games (62 starts).

Grous was also named to the All-CC Sportsmanship Team.

Liberatoscioli is a first-time All-CC honoree following a breakout campaign in which she paced Ursinus in points (38) and tied for the team lead in goals (29). She finished second in both draw controls (35), ground balls (28), and caused turnovers (19). Liberatoscioli, who has started every game of her career, registered ten multi-goal games and has a point in 23 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Sherry backed up a huge freshman campaign in which she became the first conference Rookie of the Year in school history with a strong sophomore season. A second team All-CC and second team All-Metro Region honoree in 2016, Sherry led the team with 22 caused turnovers, giving her 43 in her first two years, and matched her rookie totals with 13 goals and eight assists – good for fifth on the squad in both categories.

Also a standout field hockey player, Sherry has attained all-conference status in all four of her combined seasons.

The Bears finished 7-9 overall and 4-5 in CC play.
