Women's Lacrosse drops home finale, 12-7

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Haverford's Diana Perry scored three goals, with Sarina Manetta and Molly Lausten netting two as the Fords (9-7, 4-4 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (4-12, 2-6 Centennial) 12-7 on Wednesday afternoon in women's lacrosse action.

For Ursinus, sophomore attack Emma Ebert (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) had two goals, while freshman attack Taylor DeBernardi (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) had a goal and an assist.

Trailing 4-3 at the half, Ursinus tied the score 51 seconds into the second half when senior midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) scored her 24th goal of the year, and her 92nd career goal.

From there, Haverford went on a 7-0 run to put the game away. Sophomore midfielder Sarina Manetta scored two goals during that run, which saw Haverford take an 11-4 lead with 12:56 left.

Ursinus countered with three goals, the last from DeBarnardi with 7:50 left on a free position, but, the Bears would get no closer than 11-7.

Individually, DeBarnardi had three ground balls, as did sophomore midfielder Amy Kohout (West Deptford, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) and freshman midfielder Franny Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley). Sophomore defender Lisa Grous (Washington Township, N.J./Bishop Eustace) had four draw controls.

In goal, freshman Meaghan Corbin (Danville, Calif./Carondelet) had 13 saves.

Ursinus closes the season Saturday at Muhlenberg.
