RADNOR, Pa. – Senior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored five of her game-high seven goals in the first half as Ursinus (3-1) routed Cabrini (1-1) 19-3 in women's lacrosse play Thursday afternoon.
Thren also picked up four assists on the day, as the Bears held a 13-2 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Freshman midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) pitched in with three goals, with senior attack Emily Diehl (Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees), junior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) and junior attack Lauren Garganio (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) each doing for two. Diehl also tossed in two assists.
Defensively, Thren had six ground balls, with junior midfielder Megan Horney (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) going for four. Thren had two caused turnovers.
Senior attack Kim Peifer (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) had five draw controls as Ursinus had a 14-8 advantage in that category.
In goal, freshman Alexandra Duch (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) had four saves in the first third, while junior Jackie Kimmel (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) (five saves) and sophomore Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) (one save) saw action in the second half.
Ursinus begins its Centennial Conference schedule this weekend, hosting Swarthmore on Saturday at 3.
