Lamarca Stars in Women's Golf Opener

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Jessica Lamarca came out swinging a hot set of clubs in Saturday's season opener at the McDaniel Invitational, firing a career-best 79 to lead the Ursinus College women's golf team's fall debut.

Lamarca was terrific at The Bridges Golf Club, matching the best individual round by an Ursinus golfer since Emily McGarrigle's 79 at the Centennial Conference championship in 2018. She finished runner-up in a field of about 40 golfers, three strokes back of Stevenson's Casey Oppenheimer.

Kaylin Chen was second on the team in her collegiate debut, signing for a 100. Carolyn DeCicco carded a 110, while Chen's rookie counterpart, Annalyse Dickinson, finished with a 125.

Rebecca Chernoff rounded out the Bears' contingent with a 132.
