Lamarca Places 7th at CC Championship

LANCASTER, Pa. – Jessica Lamarca's quest for all-conference honors came up just short for the Ursinus College women's golf team as the Bears wrapped up the Centennial Conference championship on Sunday.

Bidding to become the third All-CC performer in program history, Lamarca finished three strokes out of the top-five with a two-day total of 188 (93-95). She placed seventh overall, still good for the third-best individual finish in team history.

Lamarca began the final round in a three-way tie for fifth after shooting 93 on Saturday, putting herself in position to chase all-conference laurels – given to the top five individuals and ties. She finished with a 95 on Sunday, while Dickinson's Olivia Brown (96-89—185) and Marymount's Peyton Karas (93-94—187) did enough to pass Lamarca; Brown claimed the final All-CC spot with a strong second round.

Marymount (Va.) ran away with the team title, and two Saints golfers squared off in a rare playoff to decide the individual title. Isabel Trojillo and Hunter Gillis were knotted at 172 strokes apiece at the conclusion of 36 holes, and Trojillo's par on the first playoff hole edged out Gillis' bogey for medalist honors.

Lamarca started in fine fashion, posting par on each of the first two holes and four of the first seven. Ultimately, a 9 on a tough ninth hole proved costly. She added another par and four bogeys on the back nine, winding up just shy of the top-five.

Addisen Miller finished in 15th place with a 36-hole 206 (105-101). She finished the front nine in an efficient 47 strokes, ripping off five consecutive bogeys and adding a birdie on the par-4 8th hole for good measure.

Rebecca Chernoff took six strokes off her Day 1 total and shot a 122 on Sunday. She had a bogey on the par-3 5th hole and registered seven doubles.

Bailey Hann tallied five doubles on Sunday to complete her first taste of championship action with a 2-day 280 (139-141).
