ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Jessica Lamarca tore up The Bridges Golf Club on the way to her first career individual title as the Ursinus College women's golf team opened the 2021 campaign with a day to remember at the McDaniel Invitational.
Lamarca fired a career-best 82 to cruise into the clubhouse with an eight-stroke victory, punctuating her debut crown in style. The Bears were the only program to field a full squad, earning the team title by default with an overall tally of 444.
Lamarca was brilliant, only scoring above a 5 on two holes. She made 3 on the 11th hole and logged 11 4s on the afternoon to easily outpace the rest of the 14-player field. Lamarca shattered her previous low round by 13 strokes.
Rebecca Chernoff carded a 114 in her collegiate debut, and Carolyn DeCicco matched her. Bailey Hann opened her collegiate career with a 134.
The Bears return to action next Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational.
